Well, here are the images I shot at the tulip dig... with the old kiev medium format. And... it is old-and dirty... there are lots of dust particles that prevent perfection...but hey, the subject is pretty close to perfection... (I shouldn't say that. I don't want to be one of thoooose parents.) The color isn't quite right, either... there is a strange flare thing that randomly happens, too... so, not sure what that is all about.
Here is one I shot from the passenger seat of the truck when we were on our way to meet Mom, Dad, Laura and Nathan at McCormick's Creek on Sunday. Hayes was watching out the window.... and the fuzziness occurring in the foreground is my seat belt and part of my seat.
We had a lovely late lunch at the Bird House. Afterwards, Laura and Nathan departed to get back to homework and grading and Mom, Dad, Scott, Hayes, Oli and I walked the trail to see the waterfall. After we returned to the parking lot, Mom and Dad spread out the ol' poncho liner and shared some cold drinks... It was a beautiful day. I particularly LOVE this photograph.
I underexposed these negatives in the dining room--but they are still cute enough to post. Hayes is delighting at Oliver licking the remaining morsels of oatmeal from his tray.
This is Hayes's funny/silly face... we are not sure what it means... but when he does it, he makes this "oohdoodoodoodoo" sound.... we enjoy doing the same back to him....
Oh, by the way... the mystery film that was left in the magazines... one was blank...(I am thinking I left the frame counter set at 9 when it was actually at 1) and the other was evidence that my big moment of realizing that I hadn't shot film in four years was WRONG... haha.. make that something like three and a half years... it was imagery from a cookout put on my sister and her husband in 2007..... and I am pretty sure that is correct.... I will have to consult with Laura to make sure.
Thanks for reading!!

Hayes' looks are changing so much lately! I know you probably don't want to hear that he is looking more like a boy and less like a baby, because people tell me this too, all the time. But Hayes is still so sweet and full of personality in his pictures.
I like the one of him with your folks. It is funny because sometimes I am telling Pete about things from my childhood that I enjoyed doing that I want Theo to do as well, or places I went, and I have to say "I think Laura Brown's parents took me there" :-)
the color, dust and random light flares just add to the charm of these images! i love the moments you captured, especially the picture of Hayes and your M&D and the one where he is making his silly face. i'm so glad you went back to shooting with film. it is a little risky and a lot more expensive than digital photography but its oh so cool.
Thanks so much, ladies!! I truly do appreciate your comments!!!
